Over the holidays, some of us took a little time to visit friends and family. Being away from the island gave us a chance to step back and really appreciate what Erraid means to us. We’re returning back to island life with a lot of excitement to continue shaping this special place together.

We’re also saying a heartfelt goodbye to our dear community member Jessica, who has been an incredible presence on Erraid over the past few months. Her warmth, dedication, and kindness have really made a difference—creating a beautiful, welcoming environment and always going above and beyond for our guests. We’ll absolutely miss her. 

With Jessica’s departure we are now calling to all and any practical, curious souls interested in short-term volunteering work (staying for 4 weeks) who would like to experience remote, island life during autumn 2025.

We are looking for people specifically skilled in the following areas:

• carpentry & maintenance
• hospitality and bookings
• certified chainsawing
• boating and boat maintenance

As a volunteer you’ll stay in one of the island’s cottages. Costs: we kindly ask for a contribution according to capacity of £75-125 per week to cover organic food and board expenses.
