A word from our member Adam

It’s been a challenge to navigate my way to getting more logs. There is a community run forest which Erraid usually gets timber from but they don’t have any ready yet. It’s made me be more bold with entering into the world of island networking. It’s been fantastic to get recommendations, tips and phone numbers from people I barely know and I now understand how life is organised around here a bit more.

It takes up a lot of time during the week to go to and fro with the tractor over the estuary (only possible at low spring tide) and around to the log pile. I’m just beginning to do this by myself and it is yet another new thing I’ve learned since being here. It feels good to take the pressure off other community members by taking this on so they can concentrate on other essential tasks.

So, I think, I hope, by this time next week, there should be 100 tonnes of new logs delivered to the pile to season over the next year or so.
