By Hester and Marianne (the Dutch)
In our July message we shared our intention to establish The Erraid
Community SCIO. We are extremely happy that our application was
approved on the 30th of October 2025.

On the 17 th of November 27, 2025 we celebrated the birth of the Erraid Community SCIO on Erraid. We gathered with the Erraid group, our trustees, the Dutch, Mark Anderson from Findhorn, some neighbours, old Erraid members, our friends from Traigh Bhan and our dear short-term volunteers and guests.

After a lovely lunch we all spent some time to write down a blessing
for the Erraid Community for the year 2050.

Beautiful, heartfelt dreams for Erraid’s future were shared. All
blessings were collected in a time capsule jar and buried.

Magnus, Judy and Binet planted a baby walnut tree sprouted by Judy
from a Dutch walnut.
A toast with a wee dram in celebration cups made by Marianne was
followed by the singing of a few songs under the inspiring leadership
of Adam.

All in all, it was a very special day. It was magical to feel both the deep sense of gratitude for the warm and strong connection between Erraid, the Findhorn Foundation and Traigh Bhan and at the same time feel the sense of excitement and joy about the opportunities this new
adventure will bring for Erraid.

A big thank you to Mark Anderson and Terence Gilbey for facilitating a smooth and warm transition of the custodianship for Erraid from Findhorn to the Erraid Community SCIO. I do think a lot of people have no idea about the amount of work that was involved, but after our
initial talks in the beginning of June with Terry and Mark, we have bombarded them with loads of questions. From July onwards Mark has helped us out with passwords, insurance policies, access to digital archives, communication, MOT documents, OSCR procedures,
payments, bookings systems etc. Thanks for this strong support.
A big thank you to the trustees of the Erraid Community SCIO, Judy Gibson, Hugh Andrews and Rachel Cato for taking the responsibility, for defining the purposes and constitution and for sharing their knowledge with the Erraid group. A big thank you for the Erraid group, Adam, Alice, Annemartien, Magnus and Rosa. They have been able in the midst of challenges like storm Amy, a ceiling coming down, a full 3
days first aid course and a 2-day chainsaw certification course, to continue hosting guests, offering them a life changing experience which, as one of the guests wrote, will change their choices in life in a way that makes the planet a better place, a place of love.
